 DIM MAK  (KYUSHO JITSU)

This is the legendary martial art discipline to which Jean Claude Van Damme refers in his film "blood sport".
Literally translated from Chinese it means "death touch" or deadly touch and refers to the discipline which was developed in the 13th century AD by the Shaolin monk and acupuncture master Chang San Feng and was called H'ao Ch'uan.

Qi Gong

Qi Gong is actually the Asian counterpart of the Western physics or mechanics. Qi (energy) Gong (work with, explore and cultivate) examines the phenomenon of energy in the broadest sense of the word. It looks at how forces are established and can be transferred. How these forces lead to a result and the relationship between performance and energy consumption.

Welkom to the website of Sifu Theo De Gelaen.

All my life I have been fascinated by energy in all its aspects.
Both the energy in tangible applications governed by the laws of Newton and Einstein and among others, as well as the human energy that is primarily studied in the East as the phenomenon Qi.

That is also the human energy along the corridor between physical energy and spiritual or mental, known as spiritual energy or force.
The one supports and directs the other.

That is why I devoted myself examing the physics of Newton, but also on quantum physics and the study of psychology and neurology.

The Asian approach I studied by the Oriental Medicine and the Martial Arts. The relationship between body and mind is never more apparent than here, and is part of the study of Qi Gong.
Qi stands for "energy" and Gong for "working with, studying and developing." It is an in-depth study that examines all levels of energy and thus attempting to penetrate to the essence.
More than 30 years I have been involved with this study and I can say with pride that I have built up a certain expertise in this area.

During those studies, I came upon the path of Dim Mak. This is also called pressure point fighting, referring to the use of the acupuncture points and theory. Again, I built a significant expertise. An expertise that learned that is not so much the points are important, but how to activate them via the so-called Fa Jing, a special form of Qi Gong.

In 2015, the ultimate recognition of my experience came through my election as Grand Master of the year in Munich.

Today I my main preoccupation is sharing this knowledge with others. This is done through the international martial arts and Qi Gong federation "Daochi ISBQF" and through its training center, the "Qi Gong Academy".
Through my studies I discovered the integration of Qi in both the martial arts and healing through both exercise (Qi Gong) and massage (kiatsu).

Insights that I try to share as much as possible with my students.
